Mubarak opened Mubarak International Airport Sohag

President Mubarak has opened a complete new airport at the city of Sohag.
The airport is called: Mubarak International Airport Sohag.

It's a small airport with one runway and one modern, spacious terminal with a capacity of 400 passengers per hour.

Here are some pictures of the opening:

  3. This sucks.
Not even Nasser has an airport named after him. At least Mubarak is naming a nondescript airport after him.
The best this will come to are a few Air Arabia flights to Sharjah and maybe Egyptair to Kuwait and Jeddah during the Hajj season. It will be just like Assiut Apt.

  5. Dude.
It's well known that Egyptair rarely invests in routes outside Cairo. Their domestic network outside of Luxor/Sharm/Hurghada is nil. It's basically Cairo Air with dressing.
No demand to fill a plane from Sohag to Europe. Not now, not ever. I doubt Sohag-Cairo would be profitable without some govt subsidy.
